Sams 1.3.2 The Next-Level Engineering (NLE) project is designed to transform the School of Engineering at TAMIU into a research-intensive academic unit. NLE will fund a Master of Science in Systems Engineering program, with two concentrations in data analytics and industrial automation. Two new faculty members will collaborate with existing faculty on cutting-edge research in algorithm development, data visualization, deep learning, robotic instruments, artificial intelligence, and Industry 4.0. These areas support vital sectors such as healthcare and business and supports research activities in both concentrations. Other areas affected by the project are national security and the South Texas economy in the areas of logistics and international trade. Project activities will revolutionize distribution and warehousing operations, freight transportation, and port logistics.
