Note:
SAMs 1.1.1; The research objective of this R00 project is to use a multi-model organism approach to determine the primary functions of RAs and JHs in a critical window of reproductive development when newly specified germ cells must migrate to populate the bipotential somatic gonad and then together undergo sex-specific differentiation. These goals will be accomplished through use of an innovative suite of genetic tools, fluorescent reporters, and ex vivo migration assays we have developed. Upon successful completion of this work, the impact, mechanism and conservation of RAs and JHs in this narrow but critically window of reproductive development will be defined.
