Note:

SAMs 1.1.1; This research project will develop the next generation of species distribution models (SDMs) by integrating individual-level bioenergetic budgets with predator-prey interactions, which will improve understanding of how physiological and behavioral traits as well as multiple, simultaneous environmental factors associated with climate and land use change drive geographic range limits and function. The research will take place along an elevational stream gradient in the southern Appalachian Mountains spanning gradients of temperature, stream flow, and prey abundance. The research will develop novel routines in the R statistical environment that leverage open-source geospatial data to scale our bioenergetics models from the single study gradient up to the larger regional extent in which our study gradient is embedded,is ~30,000 interconfluence stream reaches in the upper Tennessee River basin, representing a global hotspot for temperate aquatic biodiversity.
