SAMs 1.1.4; Pending Award: The MAC at Morgan's Wonderland is focused on improving access to and quality of health and support services for individuals with disabilities. The goal of this proposal is to seed the ERCC an evaluation and research center, led by the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), at the MAC at Morgan's Wonderland. The ERCC will collaboratively establish a comprehensive research program to provide timely data and improve patient outcomes for people living with disabilities and their caregivers in the San Antonio area. The ultimate goal of the research center is to obtain federal funding to establish the ERCC as a National Institutes of Health Center of Excellence in Disability Research. The requested funds will catalyze this project, accelerating a 10-year plan into a 5-year plan (see Figure 1 below). This is crucial as to address urgent needs of the disability population, from predominately Hispanic/Latino/Latina/Latinx backgrounds. The launch of the center is urgent and crucial to bringing the highest quality services to San Antonio.
