The FRONTLINES+ Project, First Responder Opioid overdose Naloxone Training and Linkage Into Needed Evidence-based Services, is a collaboration between the City of Houston Health Department (HHD), Houston Fire Department (HFD), Houston Recovery Center (HRC), Baylor College of Medicine (BCM), and University of Texas San Antonio (UTSA).This research project will provide linkages to treatment through case managers from the Houston Recovery Center (HRC). The proposed program delivery model builds in sustainability in the use of a train-the-trainer model for naloxone opioid overdose training delivery within HFD divisions and automating the linkage of overdose victims from HFD to HRC. The FRONTLINES+ Project builds on existing community resources and expertise to better equip the City of Houston to respond effectively and compassionately to the opioid overdose epidemic within our city. The research team will evaluate the program and report data to SAMHSA.
