SAMs 1.1.1; The research focus will be on a cantilever bent cap and top reinforcing, and a drilled shaft supported footing with S&T model. The researchers shall meet the following objectives: (1.)Research the range of design guidance and test data already available for hooked bars, with the goal of proposing any changes needed for hooked bar development; (2.) Research the range of design guidance and test data already available for headed bars, with the goal of proposing any design provisions for headed reinforcement. Design provisions should be written in a way that could be adopted for guidance in the TxDOT Bridge Design Manual and the LRFD Bridge Design Specifications; (3.) Develop design examples that demonstrate application of the proposed provisions.
