Note:

SAMs 1.1.1; This research project will extend the use General Recognition Theory (GRT) to examine the joint effect of variation multiple aspects of stimulus properties used to define aircraft symbology. We will design a series of experiments to investigate the influence of disrupted visual signal on tasks requiring the integration multiple information sources. We will run two types of experiments, one focused on the cognitive and performance effects when a task critical source of information is disrupted, and one investigating those effects when a secondary source of information is disrupted. These efforts will extend the General Recognition Theory model to applications in examining aircraft symbology.
