SAMs 1.1.1 This research project aims at jointly utilizing soil freezing and fracture grouting to deliver a moisture-activated, low-viscosity liquid polymer to the voids among soil particles to permanently lock contaminants in place. he focus of this one-year project shall investigate: (1) the fracturing of soil-ice composite during fracturing grouting, (2) the polymerization of the liquid polymer with the appearance of liquid water, and (3) the effectiveness of the treatment.
