Note:
SAMs 1.1.1; This NIH pass-through subaward is for research assessments that will initially be conducted on frozen and thawed semen samples collected by technicians at the SNPRC from up to 50 different male marmosets using an existing protocol for nonhuman primate sperm cryopreservation. We will develop, optimize, confirm and validate the utility of such a protocol. We will optimize sperm collection method, sample dilution, cryopreservative, extender, packaging, cooling/freezing conditions, and thawing conditions. Postdoctoral fellow will conduct assays to assess the quality of frozen and thawed sperm samples collected by Southwest National Primate Research Center (SNPRC) staff from marmosets maintained at the SNPRC.Final results will be incorporated in a manuscript that will be submitted for publication in an appropriate peer-reviewed journal to disseminate the optimized marmoset sperm cryopreservation protocol to all in the field. All sequencing data from omics assays will be deposited in appropriate, publicly accessible repositories.
