Note:
SAMs 1.1.1 The goal of this research project is to explore resource-efficient, privacy-preserving, and reliable federated learning by addressing the challenges of data analytics over wireless edge networks to enable machine learning for wireless and future intelligent applications. This project aims to enable ubiquitous and time-critical FL at the wireless edge to support delay-sensitive and data-driven IoT applications. To this end, a new FL framework at the wireless edge called cooperative edge based federated learning (CEFL) is envisioned, which leverages the omnipresent MEC capabilities in future mobile network infrastructure and integrates them into a cooperative mobile edge network for model aggregation in FL.
