Note:
SAMs 1.1.1; The overarching goal of this research project is to understand what influences the development of KHI and the role KHI plays in facilitating the entry of solar wind into the magnetosphere. This goal is achieved by statistical studies of KHI events to answer the following questions: What is the role of KHI in mixing magnetosheath and magnetospheric ions? What is the dominant ion heating mechanism within KHI? What is the effect of heavy ions on the development of KHI?
