SAMs 1.1.1 and 1.1.4; In this research project, the UTSA team will provide research assistance, strategic advice, and data analysis support to the San Antonio Police Department and City in the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the violence reduction strategy. The core UTSA Research Team will be supplemented with several UTSA faculty analysts in Year 2 who will provide additional support to the project as the mid-term phase of the Crime Plan gets underway. In Year 2, the UTSA team also will add a data visualization capacity that will allow SAPD and other stakeholders to view a variety of interactive, web-based charts and graphs for tracking the impact of the Plan on crime and related metrics from inception. The UTSA team consists of experienced criminologists and policing scholars with knowledge and expertise in evidence-based crime control strategies, problem identification and measurement, data systems and analysis, and program evaluation methodologies.
