Note:

SAMs 1.1.1 This study is an important extension of current work of the project team to promote lifestyle change with the application of digital health technologies in underserved population groups. For this research projects, specifically, Dr. Yin will work with Dr. Parra-Medina 1) to design an intervention and integrate digital technologies into the intervention delivery, 2) to train community health workers (CHWs) to deliver the intervention, 3) develop the delivery protocol of incentives, and develop the online interactive lifestyle education program in collaboration with an instructional designer, and 4) to contribute to the assessment of study outcomes, and 5) to disseminate the study findings (publications, presentations and dissemination package). Due to its unique scientific and engineering challenges, the research plan encompasses strong and holistic expertise in wireless networking, edge computing, machine learning, optimization, statistics, and privacy. The proposed research will benefit not only the wireless networking but also machine learning research communities by bridging the gap between the evolving mobile computing and networking technologies and rapidly advancing machine learning techniques.
