Title of Contract, Award, or Gift: Reaction pathway studies of hypergolic-hydrocarbon fuel blends in detonation environments via laser absorption spectroscopy
Name of Granting or Contracting Agency/Entity:
American Chemical Society - ACS
CFDA: 0
Program Title: none
Note:
SAMs 1.1.1; This research project presents a coupled computational and experimental approach to studying reaction kinetics of hydrocarbon-soluble hypergolic propellants blended with petroleum-derived fuels through time-resolved measurements of multiple intermediate species. The research objective is to identify and characterize fuel-blending strategies which can inhibit fuel reactivity and thereby reduce parasitic deflagration processes that otherwise reduce performance in rotating detonation engines.
