SAMS 1.1.1 This applied research project aims to strengthen SA Works’ ability to provide quality high school internship experiences to San Antonio youth and to improve its public outreach. This research engagement consists of four parts: (1) a quantitative analysis of high school employment, (2) a qualitative analysis of the experience of working high school students, (3) a qualitative analysis of the experience of employers of high school students, and (4) an early quantitative analysis of SA Works internship Program. These investigations will advance our understanding of the opportunities and challenges of high school employment in Bexar County and begin to estimate the impact of a promising internship program.
