CFDA: 0
Program Title: none
Note:
SAMs 1.1.1; In this research project, the Hsieh lab at UTSA will investigate how aberrant SNX19 proteins produced by alternative spliced transcripts, contribute to Alzheimer's Disease(AD) pathogenesis. The Hsieh lab will collaborate with the Ma lab to perform differentiation and characterization of the gene-edited hiPSCs from healthy people and determine the abnormal phenotypes in cerebral organoids in Aim 2. The endpoints for these studies will be the publication of novel data leading to a greater understanding of the pathogenesis of AD and potential modes of treatment. We expect much of the data to be broadly applicable to the scientific community. There is an approved Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) protocol.
