Title of Contract, Award, or Gift: Analysis of System Strength and Transient Stability for Atlantic Offshore Wind Transmission Study
Name of Granting or Contracting Agency/Entity:
Alliance for Sustainable Energy, LLC (National Renewable Energy Laboratory)
CFDA: 0
Program Title: none
Note:
SAMs 1.1.1;This research project is focused on evaluating coordinated transmission topologies and generator lead-line transmission approaches to support offshore wind deployment along the Atlantic coast of the United States. It will compare different transmission technologies and topologies; quantify costs; assess reliability, resilience, and sustainability; and evaluate key environmental and permitting issues. The objective of this work effort is to facilitate the completion of the small-signal stability analysis project. Results and evaluation of this analysis will help NREL proceed with transient stability analysis and High-Voltage, Direct Current (HVDC) network impact analysis.
