Note:

SAMs 1.1.1; In collaboration with CI:Now, and The Health Collaborative, UTSA will develop a survey about healthcare seeking and healthcare experiences before and during the pandemic. The survey will be based on community partner input and will include demographic information, self-report measures assessing physical health, mental health, education, employment, finances, insurance, housing, and self-efficacy as well as open-ended questions regarding health priorities, concerns, and resource/service needs. UTSA will construct population weights for all survey responses so our analysis will be representative of the Bexar County adult population. We will then use standard descriptive statistics to summarize demographic and survey item data. Using these weights, estimates of health conditions and utilization prevalence will be calculated for age, gender, and race/ethnic groups. Odds ratios and adjusted odds ratios will also be calculated for these groups for the health and healthcare utilization outcomes. Results will be summarized as tables and figures. A summary template will be developed to gather key points from the responses to the open-ended questions. UTSA and THC will manually code qualitative responses to identify themes, review patterns and overlap, and develop a network diagram of interrelationships between themes. Findings from both quantitative and qualitative survey responses will be used to identify: (1) unserved or underserved populations who lack access to health care and (2) service gaps and barriers to accessing health care services (3) attitudes and perceptions relating to one's healthcare.
