SAMs 1.1.1 and 1.1.4, Approved in FY22 RRE ID 101688; The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) Center for Archaeological Research (CAR), in response to a request from the City of San Antonio, under the 2020 UTSA Cultural Resources On-Call Agreement with COSA, will provide a Project Manager and Senior Archeologist at the intersection of Nueva and Presa Streets, Features 35 and 36/38 at La Villita. The scope includes conducting archaeological monitoring, analysis, curation preparation, and reporting and permit closeout. the level of effort for this investigation would include monitoring of pavement and overburden removal by subcontractors; archaeological excavation of a 1x2-meter unit at Feature 35, as well as a 1x2-meter unit at Feature 36/38; coordination among reviewing archaeologists; associated laboratory, analysis, and reporting tasks; and monitoring of feature covering once investigations are completed. Eligibility testing of Features 35 and 36/38 would be carried out under the existing Permit No.30408, issued to Cindy Munoz. Reporting for this investigation would be included in the overall project report for investigations at La Villita (Permits 8991 and 30408).
