SAMs 1.1.1; In this research project, the PI seeks to integrate methodologies and theories from the social and natural sciences to provide a broader and more complete understanding of the ayahuasca social dynamics. Additionally, the PI seeks to apply the multiple evidence-based approach, using ethnobotany and ethnography to leverage Cofan knowledge to have an equal footing with academic science. This work constitutes a novel integrative research framework to better represent cultural knowledge by bridging social and natural science approaches, through the application of methodologies and theories that encompass different levels of abstraction, from the individual to the state, and considers the multifaceted relations between object and subject across distinct temporally and spatial contexts.
