SAMs 1.1.1; This study examines factors influencing college athlete's athletic and academic performance built upon self-determination theory and the theory of planned behavior. With motivation, college may shape attitudes, subjective norms, and self-efficacy in fostering well-being. The level of well-being could influence desired performance. Data from athletes at 15 American Athletic Conference institutions will be collected to measure the relationships. A mixed method consisting of quantitative data analysis with machine learning and interview data with topic modeling and thematic analysis will be implemented. The results of this study will contribute to the development of enhanced college athlete well-being programs and education.
