SAMs 1.1.1 and 1.1.4; In this research project, The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) Center for Archaeological Research (CAR), in response to a request National Park Service (NPS) will conduct archaeological monitoring of geotechnical exploratory excavations in advance of leech field improvements within archaeological site 41GL319 in the Lyndon B. Johnson National Historic Park. The on-site work includes monitoring, analyzing, and recording observations in excavated test pits; inspection of sediments for cultural material and recovery for collections; analysis and documentation of any artifacts unearthed or features exposed.
