SAMs 1.3.2; This research project has important implications for conservation, practice and the study white-handed gibbon (Hylobates lar) groups living at Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuary to determine how the density and demographics of groups are influenced by different forest conditions. Human-caused habitat changes will soon impact all gibbon habitat. Gibbons belong to the family Hylobatidae. This graduate research grant will help pay for travel, lodging and supplies. The pilot data collected this summer will form the basis of a dissertation research. The data collection techniques required for this research and preliminary data. The pilot study will be presented at a university research fair and a national professional meeting.
