Note:

1.1.1 The objective of this project is to restore pelagic fish biomass through actions that are expected to show that bluefin tuna bycatch and bycatch mortality can be reduced in the pelagic longline (PLL) fishery operating in the Gulf of Mexico (GoM). A demonstration study will be conducted within the GoM PLL fishery to evaluate the effects of increasing PLL gear set depth in the water column on bluefin tuna bycatch mortality.
