SAMs 1.1.1. - "...Although applications using ^d15N-AA heavily depend on the ^15N-AA produced by marine primary producers (phytoplankton), potential variations in d^15N-AA between common phylogenetic groups under real-world contrasts in physiological conditions (e.g., N-limitation or mixed N sources) remains poorly understood. This work proposes to address this knowledge gap using carefully controlled culture experiments in combination with field studies as well as newly-developed analytical approaches to better characterize ^15N-AA signatures in key phytoplankton species critical to the biological pump and harmful algal blooms under environmentally-relevant physiological conditions...."
