New/Initial Award Description (ID# 102125; 2022): SAMs 1.1.1 - "...Scientific objectives of research conducted by TAMU-CC investigators include: 1) determine abundance/size of greater amberjack on uncharacterized bottom, natural banks, and artificial reefs in our region using an EK-80 echosounder, stationary camera arrays, & remotely operated vehicle (ROV); 2) conduct calibration trials on natural banks for primary acoustic and camera gears used in the W-GoM; 3) assess habitat requirements and population connectivity of greater amberjack across natural banks and artificial reefs within the W-GoM & to outside regions s in the E-GoM and South Atlantic using acoustic telemetry; & 4) deploy conventional tags on greater amberjack in the WGoM for research...."
