Note:
SAMs 1.1.1 - "...The goal of this study is to characterize water quality in the data-poor Los Olmos Creek-Laguna Salada tributary of Baffin Bay, thereby informing stakeholder-led pollutant load reduction efforts that are taking place for Baffin Bay. To address this data deficiency, a targeted study of the tributary will be conducted. Given that the Laguna Salada may hold the key to controlling brown tide blooms in the larger Baffin Bay system because of its role as an incubator, more work is clearly needed to determine pollutant sources (natural or human-derived) to it, the algal response to nutrient inputs from the different sources, and overall water quality conditions in it...."
