SAMs 1.1.1 "...an innovative methodology...will be developed to produce simulated Precipitation Features (PFs)...The simulated PFs will be evaluated in a statistically robust manner against the GPM PFs to improve knowledge of precipitation systems and to quantify model systematic biases....In this proposed research, high-resolution GPM satellite observations are combined with the GCRM simulations to improve our understanding of the characteristics of precipitation systems and precipitation processes...."
