Title of Contract, Award, or Gift: Impact of gas supersaturation and nitrite on the development of gas bubble trauma in paedomorphic salamanders
Name of Granting or Contracting Agency/Entity:
City of Austin
Program Title: Barton Springs Salamander Conservation Fund
Note:
SAMS 1.1.1. The goal of this project is to determine the impact of dissolved gas supersaturation (DGS) and nitrite on gas exchange in paedomorphic salamanders by (1) assessment of the role of two water quality parameters, DGS and nitrite, on triggering gass bubble trauma in salamanders, and (2) determination of the response of the gas exchange system in salamanders to DGS and nitrite on the development of Gas Bubble Trauma.
