Connections for Academic Success and Employment The CASE program assists students with Autism and other developmental disabilities to navigate college and empower them to reach their postsecondary academic goals and to find competitive employment after graduation. The CASE program offers an innovative college support program for students, diagnosed with Autism and other developmental disabilities pursuing an academic degree at Texas Tech University or South Plains College in West Texas. With the support of the Burkhart Center for Autism Education and Research, the CASE program provides research-based, customized supports for students to facilitate their successful transition to college and the entrance into competitive employment after graduation.Each student in CASE works with a Learning Specialist who assists and guides the student through his or her academic career. IDD Services



INSTRUCTIONAL Services offered for students with IDD:


The Student Disability Services office at Texas Tech University collaborates with the Burkhart Center for Autism Research at TTU to provide an academic coaching and socialization program entitled Connections for Academic Success and Employment (CASE). Students on the Autism Spectrum qualify for this program, but must first be admitted to TTU under regular academic requirements. Services include monthly meetings with the student, his SDS Academic Counselor, his CASE Learning Specialist, and a representative of the Texas Workforce Commission since the focus is on successful employment after graduation.



CAREER DEVELOPMENT/JOB SUPPORT Services offered for students with IDD:


Most of the services listed above are provided to students who are participants in the CASE program.



ADDITIONAL Services  offered for students with IDD:


The services provided through the CASE program are the only ones on the TTU campus provided to students with this disability.
