Note:
In this project, we originally proposed to acquire and analyze controlled-source seismic data (2-D and 3-D) from the shear margin of Thwaites Glacier. That field season was delayed 4 years due to logistical and pandemic constraints and challenges. We are finally proceeding with the first large controlled-source seismic field season in Antarctica in 2022-23. These additional funds will support the field season (including participation of the IRIS Seismic Source Facility) during 2022-23 and 2023-24, and we also request funds to support researchers and a PhD student to process the new data.
