Note:

On January 6, 2021, individuals swarmed the U.S. Capitol forcing Congress to go into lockdown as well as damaging the halls of government. According to an INSIDER Report, at least 329 people have pleaded guilty to their role in the Capitol riots. The Summer Research Team, led by Dr. Waymond Rodgers, partnered with National Counterterrorism Innovation, Technology, and Education Center (NCITE) to gain information and knowledge on data sets involving those involved in the insurrection. Thus far, our research team has analyzed 50 of these individuals, and the results indicated that they clearly had a goal in mind exemplified by a consequential decision-making mind set. Further NCITE will assist in this project by reviewing our work and providing the George Washington University's Program on Extremism database (see: https://extremism.gwu.edu/Capitol-Hill-Siege).We propose to study approximately 100 more individuals involved in the insurrection to provide more substance to our study. Objectives The objective of this proposal is to extrapolate our findings on 50 individuals pleading guilty to the Capitol crime. Further, this crime ascribed to only one criminal type of behavior discussed below as the “negation of personal accountability” criminal behavioral types. In other words, studying approximately 100 more individuals involved in the Capitol riots in order will provide more substance and elaborate on our study conducted during the summer at NCITE. There is a need for ethical theories, algorithmic decision-making models, and reflective learning to confront the growing civil unrest in the United States. Ethical education and reflective learning in society could influence values and ethical process thinking among people and contribute to a development towards a broader perspective in describing and predicting these behaviors as well as providing a prescriptive solution to the problem. The approach in this proposal supports an artificial intelligence (AI) algorithmic model.
